Isaiah 62:6b-7 says, "Take no rest, all you who pray to the LORD.  Give the LORD no rest until he completes his work, until he makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth."

In this passage Isaiah is talking specifically to the Israelites about praying for their city.  God did not want them to give up until he had accomplished what he promised.  In the same way, God wants us to press on in our prayer, and not give him rest until he does what he has promised.  It is a challenge that is directly tied to our faith.  If we do not have faith that God can do what he's promised then we will not press him for it in our prayers.  God is not threatened by our persistence, he encourages it!
